Therapy dog training and testing is provided through All American Dog Trainers, and includes 8 weeks of training culminating in a test that must be passed. Please note that CGC (Canine good citizen) is a prerequisite to taking therapy dog training. Tasks that must be completed to pass the test include basic obedience, emergency scenarios (dog remains calm), use of distractions, loose leash walking, pass and approach with other dogs, "leave it" to distractions and treats, walk around equipment such as wheelchairs, etc, and other tasks.

Compassionate canines is committed to the idea that all dogs are good at their core and deserve a loving environment to express themselves and be loved. To that end, we provide service to our community with trained therapy dogs who help dispel the myth that all dogs are aggressive or mean.
